Axle vent leaky !!!
WOW....that's ALOT of overflow, to be pushing hydraulic gear oil that thick/heavy, up a 3 foot 3/8" diameter tube....I myself would have already drained it and popped the cover, myself. I'm with Varsis- either you got water in your diff, or something, causing it to boil/foam, and come out the tube. Maybe even check for worn teeth and/or gear lash?
Is your diff open, limited slip, detroited, or air/electric locker? I know the LSD requires a specific gear oil...

well ive drained the oil and added new stuff and its doing the same thing. the only thing i hear out side the truck is my magnaflows and my 31in bfg's all terrains. my truck is all stock except for the exhaust. whats the chances that two 98 dakotas are doing the same thing my friends is pushing out oil just not as much. I added right amount of fluid what do you think about adding a overflow bottle? If it wasnt going to rain tomorrow i would take off cover and take pics of it maybe ill clean out garage so i can fit my truck back in there lol
DakotaDodge sorry for over taking your thread

Just have a little hole so pressure doesn't build Icommon knowledge) and make sure where the tube comes in, is the lowest point in the bottle.
Ok I just wasnt sure if it should still get some sort of air but I guess if its pushing that much oil out it doesnt need a lot of air. Thanks
In a radiator, the fluid is pushed into the can, but because the system is a closed loop pressurized system (where the pickup is always submerged), once the volume of the cooling system reduced, it creates a vacuum, sucking the coolant back out of the bottle and into the system.
A differential isn't pressurized, nor is it closed loop. So you almost want a setup like an IV bag, where the feed line comes out of the bottle, and is gravity fed. The fluid is forced into the bottle when it gets hot and foams, but is kept gravity-pressurized, so when it cools down, it automaticaly re-fills the differential.
Here's how I understand it. Please do correct me if wrong

yup. That's all that you need, that i know of.
I noted that after to run around 50 miles, at examinate the differential, there was a oil leaky coming from the axle vent of the diff. This only happens when I go to a highway, not in a small curse.
I looked the axle vent, it was normal, no obstructed or cracked. I changed the oil thinking that it was old. The Pick-Up manual specified 75w140. I put on the nivel marked on the case and did a test, but the leaky keeps going on. There's no leaky in other place, just there. There's no odd sound from the diff. How can I fix this?

For cripes sake man.....didn't you read your own stuff before you posted it???
"Not in a small curse"?? What the hell is that?
"I put the nivel"???.....What the hell is a nivel??
Anyway...it sounds to me like something is causing a blockage somewhere in that line of yours. Or restricting the flow of fluid. Did you call a dealer service department and run the question by them?

2. at the level of the bottom of the check plug hole.
I'm living in brazil, dude. Not a dealer service in here. That's the reason i use a forum.
