Default 98 dak 3.9, v6, 2wd__What mpg to expect?

Hi,

Recently acquired a 98 dak, v6, 3.9l, 2wd w/340# of sand over the rear axle.
Initial mpg ~ 12.5. Have replaced: air filter, O2 sensor, Distributor Rotor & Cap, Plugs & Wires.
MPG pending since last 4 items changed out.
I don't have a heavy foot.
What mpg range should I expect?
Thanks

James

Depending on what mood my truck is (same as yours), 12 (mostly happens in winter)-18.

Thanks! Gives me something to go on / expect.

ALSO, Thanks to who ever moved this thread to Gen 2.
I'm not sure how it started out in the general DAKOTA category, and I couldn't figure out how to move it myself.

why not just get a 1000 pound slab of lead and hook it up to your truck and drag it around the streets? thats basically what you've done by getting a truck. forget about mileage, just forget it. take the 400 pounds of sand out of your bed and that will help. if you cant drive without sandbags then you shouldnt be driving anyway.
