Default 2nd gen v8(318) pcm in a 2nd gen ram with 318??

i have a friend with a ram whose pcm is almost fried, would one from the dakota with the 318 work in it??

Should.. as long as its similar in features (trans, abs etc.)

just make sure inspection in your state doesnt require the VIN on the pcm to match the VIN on the truck, then you got issues. this goes for emissions generally

never heard of that before....then what you s'posed to do when the pcm goes....buy a new car??
