First off, don't take things so personally. Secondly, that wasn't so much directed at you as simply giving anyone who encounters this problem in the future a safe way to diagnose it. Thirdly, I can't give you advise cause I don't know what cats will pass inspection (like I said, mine doesn't need it). Finally, if you want this thread to be "yours", lock it, otherwise its open to anyone to comment.

I replaced mine last year with a aftermarket OEM spec cat. It's stainless and goes from the y to the muffler as 1 unit. It cost me like $110 w/ shipping. Think I got it from Autopartswarehouse or something like that? Anyway search around a bit and you'll find a good deal. No problems with emissions and it sounds alot better than the "popcorn machine" that it was before. Get a new O2 sensor as you'll never get the old one out. Mine ran around$60.

had the same problem (rattle) had a high flow cat installed, cost for cat was $60, oem are way to expensive, ask some of your hot rod buddies in town where they get their muffler work done, they usually use the same guy, my buddy changes his exhaust every month or so whether it needs it or not, he has been using the same guy for 5 years.

I had the same problem autoparts warehouse is where i got mine from it was about 600 cheaper than the dealers price. it took it about a week to get to me havent had a problem since and I just passed my vehicle inspection here in texas but i dont think they do the sniffer test here. just go to www.autopartswarehouse.com if you have problems finding the right cat like i did just call there support line and they will help . or you could just go with a high flow cat.

i got a magnaflow hi flow put on mine and it hasn't throw a code and passed emissions at one of the hardest shops around since they do everything legit and we've been going there forever plus it made my exhaust deeper and louder so i would say get one of those online 99 percent of the time never buy dealer parts
