idk man, any way you can video it and link us to youtube or something like that? the only thing i can think of is maybe something is rubbing, like the fender well or something along the lines of that

if i were you i would get under there and see what looks out of place, and if there is something wrong with your bushings or joints, etc.

i dont have a video camera that i can hook up to my computer, but there is nothing rubbing that was my first check, and i still have stock tires so they are not rubbing

here's my best guess: a bearing. A wasted bearing will go from an ESTIMATED 5000 hz to probably the 9 or 11,000 hz range depending on vehicle speed. If you have locking hubs, that's my first place to check. pinion bearing would be second (but you'd really know if that was it).

no locking hubs its got the same 4wd set up as the daks i am thinking bearing as well, but my dad is going to do the work for me by the middle of may when i come home from school and he can only hear a VERY narrow range of noises since he works in a machine shop

i willd efiently tell him that is a possibility, any way for me to check that?

mines a 4x2 and I've only even touched real 4x4's...not immmitators.

our camaro had the right front wheel bearing go, and like i said, it was about 5-6 kilohertz at 40 decibels at 30 MPH and would be a deafening 9-11 kilohertz at closer to 60-70 decibels at highway or higher speed.

replace everything

it would be quite a bit of money to do EVERYTHING... but for sure looking into the bearing side of things.

send me the money to replace everything bat :p

lol idk if its there at highway speeds but i would imagine that its there, but also drownd out by the wind noise, i mean it is defiently getting louder since i noticed it on sunday.

my dad does NOT want to believe that its bearings lol but he cant find anything else wrong with it, any ideas on how to check the bearings??

AFAIK an IFS diff would have 3 bearings, then 1 bearing in each hub flange.

how to isolate driveline components: find a deserted, flat, smooth road. get going to about 45 MPH, then put Tcase AND trans in neutral, shut off the motor, and coast (remmeber- you won't have power brakes or steering!)

If it's still howling, that leaves you with 3 components that are still spinning- front diff, tcase output and drive shafts, and rear diff.

from there, jackstands and a jack are your friends.
