Do ya'lls ball joints have grease fittings like the 1st gen's? If so grease them at every oil change and they shouldn't ever be a problem. I know what you mean though, when I first bought my truck the guy who owned it before me didn't maintain any of the front suspension/steering components and I had to get the ball joints and tie rods replaced.

If you keep them greased they should last a very long time. I've heard of them going out at 40,000 miles and I've heard of them last well over 100,000 and counting. It all depends on how well you take care of them.

Wow! You're right then, they suck! If they're not going to make something that you can maintain they need to make them last a whole heck of a lot longer!

Thats such bull! I hate all the greased for life ****. The tie rods, ball joints, u joints they all say that $hit and its bull. If they had grease fittings they could be greased all the time and they would never fail. Why on earth did automakers have to start making this greased for life crap.
