97 Dakota 440 swap
I would like to do a 440BB swap into my 97 cc dakota. Has anyone ever tried this and if so how did it go? Is my 97 a good start, the truck is paid off so that helps.

do you have the 440? If not, hope you have deep pockets.

Itll be no easy feat. I just put a 318 in and i have a 3 in body lift. i cant imagine trying to get at some of that stuff without that 3 inches.

I've seen one 440 six pack. Was at a car show at TMS.

Most people usually put the 440s in the Gen 1 Dakotas not the Gen2 or 3s.
It has been done, but not easy. Nothing really ever is...

my question is, where do you find a 440 to begin with?

dang i didn't think those would be on the rebuilding list still. I figured most would be out in junkyards or in peoples' garages.
I vote somebody go pick up a shumacher rotating assembly, put a 10-71 roots on it, and go from there.
or an origional 426 would work too.
