Did you remove the 3 screws? You remove the screws and then pry lightly on the speakers. They are sealed lightly too the door. Once the speakers come out then you can remove the mounting plate.
when your pulling pull the door panel upwards, the clips are hooked into the door frame.
and i dont remember for sure you said 3 screws i think there might be 2 smaller ones right at the bottom of the door panel
