i havent gone junkyard looking yet the 3 that ive called so far dont actually have any 2003 or 2004 dakotas they have 1999 thru 2001s but per my local buddy at dealer he says they changed the centerhub for my 16in alum rim it used to be a sorta mild chrome look now the ones dealer sells are very bright chrome and honestly they stick out with a not a super bright chrome rims that i have... even when cleaned..

i checked into the KN oil filter 12 bucks at local pepboys i plan on switching soon as for the gate straps i went to another few stores tried the ones that they had oddly all for 2004 dak and they wouldnt allow the tailgate to close the guy went above and beyond at advance auto trying out like 4 diff pair for fun of to see how theyd go since he says so many daks in area something they might need to stock up on ...

as for the speakers yeah i plan on keeping headunit i was once told if i keep the infinity powered system and replace speakers it would sound horrid since the receiver isnt pushing the watts its the powered amps that are actually attached to the speakers.. so im thinking by simply just adding an amp that should solve that issue and brother states hes got an old pioneer mp3 deck that he no longer uses.. still in good shape so im heading to the firehouse sun to swap them out and see how it goes.. as for the speakers.. left door is crackling .. the powered system is too damn bassy for what speakers they put in .. you have to kill all bass on rec if you want to turn up a song...

 

AFAIK ithe seperate amp is in the passenger kick panel. But you need to know how many watts it puts out.

 

so i got a new HU from brother old sony cdx310.. wow ive been missing out with the factory unit sadly though radio doesnt fit my dak.. i cant find any kits to make it work .. so ended up ordering a radio from crutchfield.. and some speakers to replace the poor factory ones.. whom sound horrid... as for a previous post....

i am in need of 2 centers my latest junkyard questing hasnt turned up any.. the last JY i went to the guy was like he doesnt see too many centers come thru most ppl melt down the rims .. i was like the caps are plastic... he was like.. ..silent... then said hed look for some and call me back...

im still toying around with the damn headlights... i got the 10t screw out all they gave me access to was my sidemarker lights theres 2 big screws under main light chassis.. but not sure my haynes manual got washed when i left it in back of truck with ton, rolled up and forgot it was in my box,, so time for a new one.. anyone know if their is an online version of haynes or chiltons thats free .. i found one but cost for membership...
