Default Name this part - 2000 Dakota Sport 2.5L

Having PCM start-up problems (no bus error) and have tracked a click sound coming from what I think is this little unit here. Positioned towards the firewall from the PDC and next to the brake fluid reservoir. It has 4 wires tat travel a short distance to a larger clip of wires.
Thanks for your help!
Rick

that would be your ABS module
the click would be a bad solenoid

Never thought I'd ever say this, but "Thanks Batman, you've saved the day!"

I'm spending a lot of time in mine, too...unfortunately it's looking out from the garage! I love my truck. I don't need a monster truck.
So, are up for another challenge?

It seems that power isn't getting from the PDC to the PCM because the error of "no bus" on the odometer never changes, even after installing the refurbished PCM. Does the power get to the PCM from Clip 1, 2 or 3 on the PCM? I've run the self-test on the instrument cluster and it gives me errors 920, 921, and 999 - no communication with the PCM.

A year ago I could have just dropped the truck off (well, had it towed) at the garage and let someone else take care of it. But economic times as they are, I'm on my own.

Thanks for any comments, direction and help.
Rick

Is there an easier way to simply test the PDC?

I've tested all the fuses and replaced 1 (the ASD relay) of the 6 relays. (Another thread told how to test the relays but I think I need to pick up a little jump wire with alligator clips on each end.)

I did follow the snake of wire from the PDC to the PCM and see that the clip closest to the front is not included in the wires that come from the PDC. I tried to test the 140A fuse that is labeled Alternator and not sure if I have the Ohmmeter to test it correctly. I have a service manual but don't really know how to read electrical diagrams.

Thanks again. I'm sure you have some more productive to do than sit on the computer today. Raining like a bastid here today so good day to work inside.
