Default Would this fit in my truck.

1998 dakota auto 5.2L 4x4 I found this on craigslist and i was wondering if it would fit my truck and if it would be posi or not because i would rilly like it to hook up posi, and i no i would not be able to use my 4x4 after installing it. And would it make a power difference? http://maine.craigslist.org/pts/1123213442.html

yeah it should fit and you would be able to use 4wd if you have 3.92's in the front

you are mistaken
10 bolt = 8.25 axle
12 bolt = 9.25

regardless, it will fit, although I dont know what you would benefit from it. it doesnt say if its a posi or not so who knows.

And i would just take the whole asembaly out of that rear end and put it in mine if it would work like that, going from 3.55 to 3.92 would make a pritty good power difference.

why not just buy the axle and swap the gears out? it would be a hell of alot easier than swapping the whole axle and make alot more sense. you dont know how good that junkyard axle is, it could be blown to pieces inside for all you know.
