going from a dak with a v6 to a v8..thoughts?

4.7 all the mother truckin way. Before I bought my dak, i test drove the v6 one. Then test drove my V8. It truly is night and day.

Now that I think about it. I would say if you can (and know how to) get a 5 speed manual. My dad has a 4.7 automatic (newer 545RE) and it just isn't as quick or as fun to play with as my 4.7 5 speed.

And like big briant says, gas milage isn't that bad. You can expect 16 around town and 20 on the highway, exactly what I was getting with my 4-liter 6 Cherokee.

I love mine just like all the others. Decent power, decent gas milage, and of course sounds the v8 part. Anyone know what they actually redline at?? Dodge was too brain dead to put a redline on our tachs (post 2001). So if I do get on it (on ramps are too fun) I usually don't go past 5k, anyone know what actually redline is?

My auto shifts at 5.5k if I've got it floored. Red line is somewhere around the 6 range according to my tach.
