03 dak battery shows 13v but when cranked nothing but clicking ...
yep tried to jump it with multiple vechs. even bought new jumper cables.. nothing is on when being jumped radio off blower etc.. now i did have or still have an issue with blower motor stuck with high or off but dealer says thats a circuitboard nothing major... heres the scenario from today
riding mower went dead.. jumped it with dak.. shut off dak let it charge sears craftsman mower for about 10 min ... then went to turn truck on again about 20 min later and nothing .. ive checked fuses etc that me this useless noob can check.. any ideas... even had battery tested .. showed no bad cells great voltage etc ...
local autozone told me could be starter.. but is that normal 1 min its fine then bam its out.. or would there be any tell tale signs.. ?
any ideas are appreciated if not ill have to tow it to dealer and let it sit there awhile to pay there costs to fix..

Sounds like the starter.
Try tapping the starter solenoid (like, with a hammer. Don't pound on it, just tap it)
*IF* tapping it works, you really should still replace the starter soon.
Also, is it just one click every time you put the key to "START" or does it click more than once?
The experience I had with the starter on my truck was it would "click" once or twice, and than start, but eventually got worse. (Talking, over the course of like a month) By the time I replaced the starter, I would have to put the key to "START" about a good 20-30 times in a row.

1 turn of key gets me rapid fire clicks...
i ended up using my road side asst. from my verizon cell phone to tow it to local dealer ... how goofy is that ?... so were see no other known problems until yesterday truck drive fine started fine...

I have an 05 with the same sounding issue. Its happened twice. The first time I hauled the battery to AUtozone and it tested fine. I re-installed it and 'tapped' the starter (didn't see the solenoid itself) and the truck started fine for a week. Today the problem is back. Battery seems strong (lik eit tested) and wouldn't jump start.
It almost sounds/seems like the starter is stuck or something. It just clicks and partially rotates the engine (as seen by the rotating cooling fan). The starter does pull battery voltage low but voltage seems to rebound after cranking.

My issue was actuallly dead batt aotozone wasn't putting a load on it why it read fine but when dealer tested itwith load it failed badly conclusion dead. Batt fact battery finally died
So this morning I've disconnected the battery from the truck then jumped with another vehicle. The truck starts and ran fine today this way. As if with the battery connected it was drawing too much load from the jumping vehicle to even start the truck????
So brought the truck home tonight after jumping the truck minus my battery. I reconnected the battery after I got it idling. But after the 20min drive home, shutdown to restart and nothing.
I pulled the battery and for ****s and giggles I am giving it a slow charge overnight. I cleaned the cable ends at the battery and will try one more time with the 'old' battery in the morning. But I'm leaning toward a new battery........

but the more I think about it, I wonder how much, if any load those testers really apply when testing at these stores.
I didn't pay close attention to the equipment when they tested it. But it was just a small portable unit.
Then when I reinstalled the battery it seemed to work fine for a week. Which seemed strange. Maybe a slow dying/shorting out battery.

sorry for the other post was doing it on my blackberry... yeah as for autozone i had mine tested from them which passed flying colors i was baffled i took batttery to another place theirs showed good battery so i figured wth ill tow it to dealer see what this charges me...
next morning dealer calls says it was just dead battery simple as that they changed battery cost me 110 bucks for a interstate battery and i was on my way.. now if autozones machines could have figured a load on the battery then i woulda bought a battery from them bada bing...
odd that their machine turned me away .. for business...
i will say my local dealer told me the old daks batteries are known to go in about 5-6 yrs if theirs no xtra radio or cb equip in truck if there is they go about 2-3 its the only place i take my truck nowadays.. their cheaper then all the other bodyshops around including the midas's...oh yeah check out their prices next time u goto a dealership
front disc brakes with 2 new rotors for my 03 dak with anti lock 250 bucks installed dealer midas wanted 360.00 car x wanted 320... now go figure that >>>??
i asked my dealer buddy wtf... he said chrysler lowered alot of their pricing to compete with the recession... so if your dealers are doing same id rather have my work done by a dealership esp when its cheaper then the normal guys ////

The latest update is that I am still running the 'old' bat and it is working now.
1) I removed the batt Wed night and cleaned the cables real good (wir brush, contact cleane etc and checked all the connections (except at the starter itself).
2) I also put the battery on the charger (trickle charge at 2A) through the night.
3) Put it all back together and have been running fine again for the last couple days. But I am still anticipating the problem returning and getting a new battery here this weekend.
Its just a bit strange. This isn't two different from what happened in my wifes Mountaineer, but that car wouldn't crank at all. I guess the battery was really dying in that case or had a fancier battery protect logic that doesn't allow the car to crank if the battery is low (like on other modern vehicles).
Just an update.....
