Shifting probleme.

Default Shifting probleme.

1998 dodge dakota 4x4 5.2L auto, Well here my probleme, at wot at stoped or moving when it goes from 1 to 2 gear it wont shift out of first unless i let off it a hair, does anyone no why that might be? but its fine in all the rest of the gears at wot, and its fine if im not at wot going from 1st gear to 2.

Most autos are that way. At least the ones I have driven. But in the higher gears, pedal to the floor usually results in a downshift. They are made that way for hills and passing.

No i dont think you no what i mean lol, it kicks down fine the truck shifts awsome, but the only probleme is that when im going from a stop and its on 1st gear at wot for it to shift in to second i have to let of a little or it rill rev right to revlimiter and never shift in to second untill i let off.

mine wont shift from 1st - 2nd shift either when the throttle is pinned to the floor.. nature of the beast, even my transmission rebuilder said its normal.. o well, 60,000 miles down the road after the rebuild and the transmission still shifts nice and firm and the fluid is still clean (after 2 services)...

happened to me, total rebuild, still happens. wait for user to chime in, he knows the exact problem and the remedy.

happened on mine when I had an auto. Its time for that thing to be rebuilt. You can go ahead and get shift kit for it if you want better performance and reliability but if its just a dd you probably don't need it.

Well i talked to one guy, and he said the bands might need to be adjusted and dew a filter and fluid chang but i dont no if that would help? my truck does have 120,000 miles on it and i dont no when the last time that was done, i baught it with 108,000 on it.
