all wheel disc brakes
I just completed a rear disc conversion on my '99. I'm just a shadetree mechanic and I was able to do it. The instructions they provided really aren't that great and there were some snags. It's not easy identifying location/arrangement of some components since there are no diagrams..in particular setting up the parking brake bracket and cable. Also the SSBC spec for the banjo bolts say 20-30 ft lbs, but I broke one at 300 inch/lbs so you might want to stay with 20 ft/lbs unless you want to wait for parts like me. The only other thing I ran into was the calipers they sent me were mislabeled...Left was actually right and right was left, you can tell because of the parking brake spring and lever must be facing the front of the truck. There's a few articles from mags on the SSBC site that have photos that help too.
I painted my caliper and rotors with G2 Caliper epoxy, alternatively you can get the extralife coating or powdercoat from SSBC...If you don't do one of these the rotor hubs will rust eventually, but not the calipers.
My brakes work great...stop noticably better than stock and no squeaking at all. Overall I'm very happy with the kit.

Bugger. I've got an 02 with the 4wheel ABS.
Just as well though, drums are better parking brakes and I do sometimes tow a 6k load.
