Ok, I hate bringing this stuff up, but I am still on the truck hunt. I thought I had my hands on a 2009 Dodge Ram Sport 4x4 QC BUT since I am 18 I can't get financing in my name until I am 19. This is law in British Columbia. I could get it with my father co-signing but he doesnt want a 50 thousand dollar loan in his name. So we drove around town and found a 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport QC 4x4, with the 4.7L V8. It has 62,000km or 37903miles on it and is in near mint condition. SHe is asking $12,000CAD or $10,375.12USD.

Well, she is kind of clueless. She said that it was her husband's but he passed away two years ago and doesn't know where to start on the cost. $12,000 is a great deal up here considering I paid $5000 for my 2002 intrepid with 180,000km and msot trucks go for about 20 grand if they are newer than 2001. I am in Northern Canada. So 4x4 is a must haha

Hold on a second... she wants $10k US??? That's like WAY over book value.
I just paid $6,125.00 for my '02/4.7/5-speed/CD/LSD with 97,000 miles and in excellent condition. The Edmunds True Market Value in my area was $6,800.
But if you REALLY love the truck and intend to keep it for a long time there's an old adage in negotiations... "Any deal that is okay with the buyer and the seller is a good deal."
