Default A couple questions

1st, My 04 - 4.7 Dakota always shows 2/3 Qt. low on dipstick. I at first thought it was using it between oil changes, but I changed the oil the other day @ 51,000 miles, and it showed about 2/3 Qt. low before chaning it. I put new filter on, and added 6 Quarts oil. I ran it for a couple minutes, and it showed 2/3 low. I let it sit over night, and checked it in the morning. Yep, 2/3 low. My neighbor has a 02 4.7 in his, so I tried it with his dip stick. The same. Any one else experiencing this ?

2nd, I have the original brakes front and back. They still look like new ? I even live in the mountains where there are lots of hills. Someone told me they are probably ceramic. When has anyone else changed there brakes ?

3rd, Does anyone know where to get the factory lug nuts at a fair price. The outer cheap casing came off a couple of mine, and $6.73 each at dealer seems nuts.

1. This is common on OHC motors. The cams are hollow and oil likes to sit in there and can throw of the reading on the dip stick a little. So if you put 6 qts in I wouldn't worry. This is a pretty common understanding.

2. I was actually looking at mine today and realized they were still very thick and I too was surprised.

3. Just go to Napa and get some make sure they are solid lug nuts and don't have a stupid chrome plated cap on them. I had the same problem with mine and a couple broke and I went to Napa and got them. I think they come in a 5 pack so that kind of stinks. Im still not sure why the Dakota has a 6 lug pattern.
