anyone remove this? its that black (on my truck) pad on the underside of the hood. I want to remove it so i can maybe make the engine louder but don't want the engine to get too hot to where it messes up my paint too bad... anyone remove this? does it make a difference (in sound or otherwise)?

 

Remove it,.. All it does is suppress engine sound and,
eventually attract a lot of dirt & dust. All of which will
end up in helping keep your engine bay dirty.
The heat will not effect your paint.

 

Im have been thinking about removing mine and as far as too much heat to the hood think about your truck sitting in the sun on a 80 degree day for 8 hrs that would make your truck hood way hotter than any engine could do.

 

Here in TX it would be 108 degrees for 8 hours

i had one of those until it got soaked from 4x4 and fell out LOL.
