if you really wanna feel it in the seat of your pant i would re-gear. if its actual motor power your after, looks towards an intake, Hughes makes one for the 3.9. also, 1.7's are a good option and then maybe some headers.

4.7L FTMFW!!!!!

5.9L is nice...but theres alot more to it then just "throwing it in"

id look at pricing of having a shop build you a set of headers...rollor rockers...and a good intake!!!

i think that KRC makes v6 LT's. not positive tho, and definitely too lazy to go look right now.

I agree 4.7 is better (i might be biased tho )

a 5.9 is easy enough to get, and has a ton of aftermarket so its always a good bet

the 4.7 is NEWER, and more efficient than the 5.9, but the 5.9 is a MUCH easier swap from the 3.9, same tranny, same motor mounts, would "bolt right in" so to speak, the 4.7 he would need to fab up motor mounts, and get a new transmission to go with it, so if you want a swap definitely go with the 5.9, but i would try to build up the 3.9 as suggested with cams, CAI, headers, exhaust, v8 throttle body, ect, ect

Its a 3.9 its going to be slow. Don't waste your time and money trying to make it "fast" because it never will be unless you tt that thing and I don't think you're going to do that anytime soon. Spend the money and swap a 360 in it. Just do it right the first time and don't spend a bunch of money only to find you your 3.9 is still slow. Those motors make good torque.

BUT... if you are going to keep it, get a v8 tb off a 5.2 or 5.9, those make a noticable difference. And then I would get a
tuner.

Also do some searching around on the forum, this is one of those topics that gets coverd ALL the time. So do some research and let us know what you decide to do, welcome to the forum.
