leveling
i got 02 4X4 and i want to raise the front end of my truck so it is level but they disconntinued all the kits i have check all my 4X4 parts stores they told me that it will mess up the front end y would going up like 2in make the whole front end screwed up but i was thinking of doing what some chevy guys i know do they heat up the torsion bars to raise it up or tighten the factory keys will that work or is that a bad idea if anyone knows anything let me know cause my tires rub some and i dont want to do a whole body lift and cant afford a whole suspension lift kit
You can crank your torsion bars on a dakota which will give you 2 inches. But you will need a new allignment once you do that. BTW search the forum this another one of those topics that has been covered dozens of times. Just search torsion bar and a lot will come up.
TB cranks will have its pros and cons, but I know most people who have done it don't have any problems. Hopefully Fox will chime in he did it.

yeah i did it about 3 years ago, no ill effects. you'll be happy with the results.. i suggest getting helper springs for the rear leafs, this way when you load up your truck it doesnt look like its gonna take off like a plane. and no more than 8 turns, any further and you run into shock travel and brake hose length issues.. i only cranked mine up 7 turns - 1 3/4". dont ever heat up torsion bars.

Thats how I did mine. I dont think it would work very well with the truck on the ground.
