I would avoid body lifts. Put one (3") on a friends ram and it was a complete cluster. Had to make wiring extensions, cut the floor for the transfer case shifter, all new brake lines, modify the radiator mount and fab new bumper brackets to line things up again.

I told him to just get a suspension kit ($500 at the time for one for the ram). Basically he ended up paying more than the lift kit by time the body lift problems were fixed.

He tboned a car with it later. New fenders and hood wouldnt line up correctly. Shop found out that the bolts in the body lift bent forwards moving the cab forward about a 1/2 inch.

Awesome, I was thinking of getting a body lift but if it can be that much of a nightmare it will turn that way for me. Damn murphy and his law!!

from people ive seen and heard of doing the body lifts they havn't had many problems. can do in a day. may have to extend rad hose, gas filler neck hoses. other stuff u get extensions for in the kit. make sure to take the spare tire down first since i believe its mounted to the bed and frame somehow. just what others have said.
its definatly doable. not a big issue.

Oh my spare went MIA years ago....

I will have to so some reasearch when I decide to get new tires. I miss mud tires like you cant believe (well now that I have a different DD that is) and I WILL get more Biggest I can manage of course!!

ya but one of my tires found a carrage bolt and I didnt have an option. I WANTED dunlop radial ATs for ~$90/tire instead of the $130/tire for these yokos I have now. They are great tires but Im not off roading at all now.

My truck needs a few mods before it gets more action off road! Like front tow hooks and more ground clearance. A SAS in a perfect world too!

1998 dakota 5.2L auto 4x4. Well i just went and picked up my 3inch perofrmance acceseries body lift, And is there anything i should look out for or any tech neaks to doing it? I plan on, putting it in tomaro night. I just got done reading the dirrection's in doing it. A couple thing i was wondering about is it said that i have to take my 4x4 shaft out and put an extention on it? And take my seats out and middle console out for some reason? and drew new holes in my frame and my rear bumper brackets? but some people told my just to flip the bumper brackets around? But any suggesttion or help would be so great thanks.
