Default Anyone have a 4.7L with manual trans?

I am asking this because I am planning a manual swap in my 2001 Dakota QC. It currently has an auto trans in it and I want to put in a NV4500HD. I am going to do a body lift to get room in the trans tunnel. I have worked out all of the details except for the PCM. Before I start my huge hunt for a needle in a haystack I am trying to see if the 4.7 came with a manual trans in 2001. Since the 318 was offered with the NV3500 I think the 4.7 may have been as well.

yes the 4.7's did come with 5 speeds. annnd youre better off looking for a computer that is for an 01, your options, for the 4.7 v8 with the standard tranny

http://car-part.com/ You will find what you need. just call the yard of one that sounds good and they will ship it to you. Looks like a PCM for a 2001 Dakota 4.7 M/T is anywhere between 85$-125.00$. Good Luck

dude, i have an 01 with QC 4.7 and 5 speed and my tranny and i have the stock NV3500 with a stage 2 clutch on it. Honestly I would just trade for one that came with a 5 speed stock and go from there... seems like a huge pain in the *** to do it yourself.

PM me if you need anything (considering i have the exact truck you are trying to get)

Cheers.

Thanks for the link. I see it pop up a lot more in the second gen forum. I am guesing this is where I will end up starting my search. Even $125 is not bad if the PCM is in good shape. $85 would be a great price.

I consdier it a little bit of challenge. I am already rebuilding the 4.7 myself and have an NV4500 sitting in my garage prepped and ready to go. I was going to put it behind my first gen and the 318, but now it will go in the 2001 QC. I hate automatics. 95_318SLT did a swap in the first gen from auto to manual in one weekend. The computer system is more complex so getting a M?T transmission should help clear up the problems. Beyond that it is a matter of running linkages, pedal, and hooking up the clutch pedal wiring properly. Somone in another forum actually put a viper tranny behind his second gen, which was an automatic.

I will be sure to PM you. I am gonig to want to get pictures of the shfiter, pedal, and steering column to see how it all comes stock.

How much did they hit you up for that? And are they willing to write anything to it? Even if your truck isnt a manual from the factory?
