Default 97 3.9l backfire?

i recently purchased a 97 dakota 2wd v6 auto. i replaced the injectors with bosch injectors and just did the intake gasket and new timing chain. it also has new cap, rotor, plugs, wires and new throttle position sensor. i cant seem to figure out why it back fires through the intake and hesitates when i am trying to take off in drive. if you rev it in neautral it doesn't seem to do it as bad but you still notice the hesitation when you give it throttle. any ideas on what it could be? thanks

was it backfiring at all before you put the new timing chain on? bc if it was, and the old one was a loose as you say it was then its possible that it skipped some teeth and got out of time before you changed it.

yes it was doing it before but i lined the new sprockets with the timing dots on them and the crank and cam are keyed so i couldn't have installed them wrong.

i replaced the crank position sensor it seemed to help a little. i was wondering how long it takes the computer to relearn the signal and adjust the parameters.
