The back seat is a 60/40 split, yeah? just remove the 40 seat then move hte 60 into the center and put one 10" on each side of it.

for the brush guard i got mine on ebay cost like $230 much better than the $500+ for name brand, mine is frame mounted and i love it, the only problem i ran into is there are two support brackets that run under the grille that i had to drill a hole in the frame to mount

link to i think is the same one

I'm thinking about putting together a center console for my truck as well. I should seriously consider making it a sub enclosure as well. Currently, I have a giant ported sub enclosure with 2 10s in it sitting on the drivers side of my back seat with the amp screwed to the wall of the cab behind the rear seats. That way I just have to disconnect the speaker wires when I want to take it out. There was just enough room back there for the amp. I wouldn't mind opening up the back seat like that. Besides, I just want a friggin center console. All I have is floor... lol

the slot isnt for the ipod..im putting a power adapter in there and the thing is curved on one side so i had to cut it that way. i still have to find cup holder inserts for it, make a bracket for the scanner so its sits level, put in some switched for my emergency lights and carpet it

What kind of volume were you able to get for your sub? Any measurements available? Diagrams?

there is a diy on here that i went off of and it worked really good. only problem was there was no measurements and i asked him and never got a reply.
heres the one i found

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...nsole-diy.html

here are some quick numbers though:
used 3/4" mdf board
bottom board was 43"x11"
height is 12" at the highest part and i believe 5" at the lower part
the face where the sub goes is 11"x11"
i wanted a big console so i had to sacrifice some room for the sub. you can see a drawn line on the side of mine...thats where the sub box ends. depending on how much volume of air you want in the box determines on how far back you put the back board. but it will make your console part smaller
if your gonna do it your gonna have to take your own measurements cause all trucks are different..i got a quad cab and the diy i went off of was a reg cab so i have to improvise

I hear you there. I would be doing it in my quad cab as well. My concerns are: I would prefer not to sacrifice too much audio performance over what I currently have. Also, not to be a hater, but I think the covering doesn't look that good on the console in that DIY thread. So I would need to really take my time and make it look good and perhaps choose a different material. I was thinking of utilizing one of Kicker's newer 10s like you have and porting the box if needbe. I know that sealed boxes need less volume for optimal performance.

With the center console/arm rest, I wouldn't have a need for the arm rests on my two front seats. Unfortunately, there is a socket that sticks out that they bolt to and I am hesitant to chop it off. Can your box be removed without removing the seats?

***Edit*** I ask about the removal because I am thinking about including some kind of security measure so that I can lock my gun inside of it when I want to.
