Unhappy No A/C!

Basically the a/c doesnt work. I know that this can be a multitude of things, but I'll try to narrow it down. When i turn the A/C mode on, I cannot hear it engaging inside the engine (normally it sounds like a high powered fan, blowing air etc). It seems as if the (compressor? or clutch?) is not turning on. I pulled the fuse, the little black box looking time fuse and it seems to look okay, even though I cannot be sure. Tomorrow I'll recharge the system and replace the fuse just incase. Do you guys think that this will solve the problem? Or is there anyway that I can somehow test the system to see what exact part is messed up? I recently did a full radiator flush and the fluid is all up to where its supposed to be.

Thanks for the help and sorry for my lack of technical terminology

id have to see the clutch assembly to be sure...
but. i know on mine if its engaged you can see the clutch spin with the pully, if it dosnt engage then the clutch does not spin.. that'll tell you if the clutch is engaging or not

also, there is a single wire coming out of the case that is the clutch positive source, so if you hook a wire from the battery to that power wire you should see/hear the clutch engage, it'll look like the assembly squeezes the pully
(do this with the truck off)

thats a direct way to test the clutch itself

if you are out of 134a (freon) the compressor will NOT engage, its a safety so it doesnt burn it self up, you can do a home recharge but it will not be as cold as you think, you need to pull a vacum on the system ( you can rent the pump from auto zone) then fill it
