Default Shorty Headers...

So i found these shorty headers for my 4.7 (looks like a decent price too), and just wanted to know, potentially what kind of power i would be gaining... If i remember correctly, shorties give hp while long(ies) give more torque, but would getting shorties reduce my current torque output?

you wont be gaining any power. 4.7 manifolds flow within 2% of headers. the only logical reason to put headers on a 4.7 is if you want a better exhaust sound or if you're boosted. also, those are only painted... they'll look like rusty pieces of crap within 6 months.

yeah but for that price i would just deal with the rust, if you go with shorties and no cats that little 4.7 will still sound pretty gnarly. if they rust out in 3 years, whatever, theyre cheap, get another set. maybe by then someone will make an affordable priced set of LT's for your motor.

I woudn't even spend the money on headers unless you where to get longtubes.. not worth it...

spead the money on a better Throttle Body or H/O intake Manifold... or H/O cams..

too bad no one really makes anything for that crappy motor. HO cams would be the way to start i would think, followed up with an intake manifold and TB. but again, really, why even try with that little 4.7.......

The 4.7 is a better motor then the 5.9. We just have more aftermarket to make it Better then the new **** coming out... sadly the new v6s coming out have MORE HP and almost the same torque as our old 5.9 v8s.

So leave the 4.7 guys alone. Its a v8 thats all that matters pick on the 3.7 and 3.9 people... and the people with the 4cyl... dont even bother with them.
