Default lifted 01

Im trying to get my dakota vertical. I have an 01 SLT QC 2WD 4.7L. The rear im not too worried about, being that blocks make that simple. I would like to go for a 1 inch rear block, with a 2 inch front coil spacer. On top of that id like to get a 3 inch body lift giving me 4 inches of lift in the rear and 5 in the front leveling the truck out. I havent been able to find the spindles to lift up the front anywhere. Id like to avoid changing any geometry. Is there anyone who has any experience lifting a 2wd dak with any of these methods. I know lifting a 4wd is a little easier with the availability of kits, but it seems that not many people offer anything as far as the 2wd models.

A 4/5 body lift really won't do anything for you other than allowing you to run larger tires, but you won't be able to fit much larger than stock w/out clearence issues, plus body liftes usually look kinda crappy. Im not really sure how lifting a 2wd works because usually people don't lift them and I know the front suspension is different but I'm not sure how seeing as I do not own a 2wd.

ok, 2wd have the upper arm on the top of the frame, 4wd have a torsion bar setup and the upper control arm is setup on the side of the frame.

instead of 1in blocks, go with a longer leaf shackle.

a 3in bodylift doesn't look bad body and frame wise... however, getting the front up will deff be hard to do.

spindles are a no go... they don't make aftermarket drop or raise spindles for us. best bet is to get a custom springs with longer shocks.... or just level the rear and do the bodylift.... it'll look taller and be level. other than whats mentioned i'm not sure....

i'd be careful with those because they are aluminum.... i had a bad experience with the 3in aluminum rear drop blocks... aluminum doesn't handle daily driving to well

The rubber coil spacers work good from my experience on a chevy anyway. Never used aluminum ones but i do have 3" aluminum blocks under the rear of my dakota and they are no good!
What I would recommend for lifting a 2wd dak is 2" lift springs or if you want to go higher 3" springs and an upper control arm.
look here http://www.doetsch-shocks.com/17.asp
A little more expensive than the spacers but you can get a higher lift out of it. Also fabtech made a kit like this but i think it is discontinued now.

and for the rear blocks wont help you any because the spring is under the axle on a 2wd but i was going to do a spring over on the rear of mine but that should give you about 4" in the rear and you might not want that much so the next best thing would be longer shackles.

good luck

I dont know about any kits for it but i had to do it a couple of time when i replaced the rearend in my old first gen. I would get the whole rearend out of a 2wd, cut the perches off of the bottom and reweld them on top and slap it under my 4x4.

now for the 2wd springs i think you can just take the bolt out of the center of the spring pack and flip it over so the alignment pin is on the bottom instead of on top. (Ive never done this part so im not sure)

doin the "axle flip" in tradition manner, has already been done to our trucks.

you'd have to un-flip it lol.

but could you flip the axle over to where the perches are and then put the leafs on the top? i mean, the gears do the same thing foreward and reverse....
