Default 01 4 cyl clutch replacement? Best place to buy?

Hey guys/gals, new here, just picked up an 01 dodge dakota 4 cyl manual trans. Apparently per the previous owner the clutch needs to be replaced, it had been slipping for some time and completely went out on its last trip out.

You can shift into all gears but when letting off the clutch the truck stays put... No wierd noises or anything.

Im used to doing clutches in 80s VWs so Ive never done one on a RWD car/truck but I hear its quite a bit easier. Anything to look out for when replacing the clutch in this thing?
Also, where is the best place to buy a clutch kit?

Thanks in advance!!!

i replaced a clutch and flywheel in my 4cyl dakota and it took me 4 hours. theres really no hard part to change the clutch. the only thing u got to look out for is to not put your pilot bearing in backwards (numbers facing to you when instaling) and when u stab the clutch shaft through the cluch make sure u dont hit the crank position sensor. other than that u should have no problem. the kit runs about 300$ at advance auto parts and it has a lifetime warranty. the flywheel is a little more than a 100$ and has the same warranty.

sounds like you got lucky... normally if the clutch wears down too far the rivets tear into the flywheel

ebay is your best bet. you can get a clutch kit waaaaaayyyyy cheaper and have it shipped to your door. roughly looking at no more then 150 bucks brand new. then you take your savings and do a flywheel if you want, or even put a upgraded clutch in there if you do towing. either way you will be way below what auto part stores want

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXEDY...Q5fAccessories

there you go shipped to your door 200 bucks.
also excedy is normally 20-30% stronger then stock.
