Question 98 dakota slt keyless entry

HI all,

New batteries, click on clicker passenger not a problem, driver side sticks almost everytime, will not unlock or lock remotely...took panel off and I'm and Idiot so know idea what to look for. Electric unit in the door ? sorry lost thank you

The door lock actuator is probably bad. You have to buy the actuator and the door latch assembly as one unit, Dodge does not sell the actuator as a separate part. You can install an aftermarket actuator in the door and connect it to the door lock mechanism on the bottom of the latch, or mount it to the door lock rod. This costs a lot less money. Pep Boys sells door lock actuators for about $10.00 or you can get one at any good car audio store. Connect the wires on the actuator to the 2 wires for the OE actuator, and if it works backwards just reverse the connections.
