Default catylac converter help!

I have a 2002 Dakota 4X4 V-6. Pressure test for the converter is showing some blockage. I have noticed some loss in HP especially when towing. The last eight of my VIN shows it to be a Michigan truck (non California). BUT my truck does have a California converter on it. I cannot seem to find one for my truck. Dodge dealer says the can get one in. It is only $1500 !!!!! Is it possible to put a non california converter on it and some way flash the computer (so it's not looking for the extra O2 sensor that is on the california converter)? Or even pointing me in a direction of a california converter to fit my truck. i did check with some of the big name exhaust manf. but nothing for my year. ANY help would be great.

just get a magnaflow free flow cat and throw it in there. can always drill holes and weld new bungs onto the pipe to allow your o2s to stay intact.

yeah starting in 2001 the whole country tightened up it's emissions standards and we are all 'cali' cars. screw it, chop the cat, and sim it, worked for me
