those are the part numbers for all issued pcms in 2001 for a 5.9 dakota. all rts that year had one of those numbers. The one on top would be earlier in 2001(ends in A) and the one on bottom would be one they used towards the end of 2001(ends in G, has "updates" on it over previous ones.)
Thats why I say if your calling a company that will program you one based on a part number, I would tell them the bottom one.

So essentially the last one on the list the most "updated" would run one of the earlier 2001 5.9 motors better? And you are 100% that those are right? Because I just ordered one and gave them the last part number on that list and it ran me $196 with tax but it is non refundable so if it doesn't work i'm out 200 and still stuck with a broken truck lol. Thank you guys for all the help. Now all i can do is wait and hope when I plug it in everything lights up.

the ecu arrived...
I got my ecu today and I was so sure that it would work from what you guys said and couldn't wait to put it in so i plug it up and turn the key, all the gages light up and everything looks good so i go to crank it and that's all it did. It turned over but it just wouldn't start, it acted like it was about to start a few times, but it just wouldn't start. Anything, tips, tricks, something i can try that might work or is this a programmer failure? If you guys have any tips that i can try i would much appreciate it cuz this is becoming such a bothersome problem as of late...

Drivetrain question
I know this is a really old thread and not sure if anyone will see this. I have a 99 Dakota sport with the 3.9. I found a 5.2 engine and trans for a good price I want to swap into my truck. Will I have to get different transfer case and drive shafts? Both trucks are 4x4. Thanks in advance
