I would also avoid welding them, use panel adhesive it's a two part epoxy same stuff GM uses to glue the quarter panels on the Vette. That is how I did mine 3 years ago and I have had no issues at all. You don't have to deal with your door warping from welding it, and honestly it's a lot faster (I have done it both ways).

i never thought of the door warping
were would you get that kind of epoxy?

Ive never had a problem with metal warping Cause I spot weld depending on how big the peice of metal is put enough to hold it up or about 1/2-1in apart and give it time to cool and just fill in.

oh i dont know then
i might go with welding it because my uncle has a welder and that way i dont have to buy anything.

You can go to any body shop supply they will have it, if you just spot weld it you risk getting rust between the patch and the parent metal where it has not been welded.

no you just dont do a couple spot welds, you do spot welds all the way around the piece of metal goin from side to the other side so it doesnt get to hot in one area

Yes and after some time you have all the gaps filled in then you grind it down and apply bondo.

i dont kno how to post a new topic so i just reply on this one i have bought a cb and took off the cup holder door in my 2000 dodge ram in the dash to mount it but my mount is too short has anyone ever seen one mounted like this and if so what mount do i need
