Default 2004 QC 3.7V6 Manual 4x4 Shift indicator light

People would consider me lucky for this problem... but other than the initial light-up of the dashboard when you start the vehicle, the shift indicator light (SIL) never comes on.
No other odd behavior, computer codes, mods, or such had been done to my knowldge (I recently did the key turn code display.. got only PDONE).
Not that it is especially heart breaking for me not to have the dummy light.. I just would like to know why???
Checking with the feature types I should have with this vehicle.. it should be operational.
Just an oddity that bugs me.. Ideas?

We have found that they don't work on 3.7 & 4.7. Not sure why though.

It's not a big deal but makes me curious. Why put it in there if it isn't going to work...

Um because it doesn't work. Thats like putting a 4wd switch in there and not having a 4wd truck... obviously to a higher degree but same concept.

Yeah, I guess the light-up of a non-functioning "feature" threw me.. I could see the bulb not being there or the light just never illuminating.. ever. I just view it along the lines like having the ABS light that shows on startup on a non-ABS vehicle.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's nice to know there isn't "something a little wrong" back in there.
