Default Car Alarm

Anybody know where i can get a good car alarm? or does anyone have one for sale? i have done a bunch of searching online for this and i don't really know enough about makes one different from another.

This all came about because i went out to my truck this morning to go to class and i found all the windows smashed out of my truck and they tried to rip the radio out, they couldn't figure out how to get it out. so it was just hanging there by the wires. it just happened to be raining last night so the radio was soaked along with the box i just made and the seats, i took the truck all apart to again to dry it, along with the radio, so i hope i can save that. but all they ended up taking was a cup full of change and an ipod hook up cord. i called the cops and all they said was, "there is nothing we can do about it." the way the economy is going these days it is dangerous to drive a nice vehicle around. i was not impressed to say the least.

Sorry to hear about this. It still is good you called the cops, you need a police report if you report it to your insurance. Depending on your deductible, your comprehensive coverage may help, even if only for part of the repairs. The radio may or may not dry out and work again, depending on how wet it is. If not, at least new ones have decent pricing nowadays. Let the truck sit in the sun with the windows down, soon the seats will dry out too. It's an old trick of car thieves and crackheads looking to steal the radio to do it on a night when it is raining. The sound of the rain and thunder covers up the noise they make smashing the window and breaking the dashboard panel to get the radio out. I had to put plenty of broken-into and stolen vehicles back together when I was an installer.

Viper is the best alarm you can buy. They work great and they last forever if installed properly. Just remember a car alarm is only as good as the guy who installs it. Viper has a couple of models now that will alert you via the remote control if the alarm is triggered. They will also control the electric door locks too so you know if the alarm is on the truck is locked. If you have no electric door locks the installer can add door lock actuators and interface them with the alarm, but that will cost extra. Visit www.directed.com to learn more and find a Viper dealer where you live.

I got 2 security systems

This one sits in my closet with a box of shells beside it every since our neighbors down the road had their house broken into.

Then I also have the factory alarm which works pretty well when its going off if you try to start the truck it will start for a sec then shut itself off and the alarm wont go off until you hit the unlock button on the remote. crutchfield.com has some good ones my bro in law has this one in his truck and he loves it http://www.crutchfield.com/p_607P460...60.html?tp=149
