I have to keep it. This is my work truck, so I can't really let it sit for any length of time. I will swap a v8 before I rebuild the 6. But cheaper is better, and if I can just address the one problem I would do that. Realistically I know the motor is shot, 150,000 miles is a lot to ask of a Dodge motor. I hate to say that, but I really work this truck hard. The body is perfect, and a new trans, I can't see letting it go.

Where are you at with the misfire?
are you fixing or swapping? I thought I had mine fixed it ran great for a couple of weeks untill I got stuck in traffic for 1/2 hr. Now it's back to wanting to stall when I stop.

If it stalls when you come to a stop, or wants to, it's usually an o2 sensor.

Smile Seafoam!!!

I just ran a can of Seafoam through the truck and now it runs perfectly! I had never heard of this stuff, but it works. I did it exactly as the instructions tell you: 1/3 can into the intake (almost a third, when you get half of the third into the motor dump the remainder of the third to stall the motor) a third into the crankcase, and the last into the gas tank. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes then start it up and rev the pure hell out of it. Lots of white smoke and black water from the exhaust pipe. It will smell like a nitro gas engine for a while, but it fied the problem. I will post a link to the video as soon as I post it. For $10 my truck runs again. Give this a try, I spent almost $900 on parts and mechanics to look at and fix this problem. $10 bucks, I can't believe it!

Thanks money is getting real tight now and I need my truck to go to school every day, back to school for career change No work as a tool and die maker.
Over 1 hr drive to school every day and I will not drive a small car on the highway.
I'll try to find some around here.

I Seafoamed mine this week and there was a slight lifter tick before that's gone now.Misfire is almost gone just a slight shake at idle. So far CEL is off, a lot better 75%. I might run another can thru, Advance Auto has it on for $7.99 until end of sept.

Mine just now started to skip a little around the 45-60 mph range. That is nowhere as bad as it had been though. I will run another can in a few weeks, I want to see how much worse it will get. I know that sounds crazy, but I want to see just how temporary this fix is. I still believe there are some mechanical issues in the engine. We will see...
