Default AC/Heat Blower motor

Hey All,

Just a quick ? I had my plug to the blower motor melt, and will be replacing it tomorrow. The motor still spins when there is power to it. I plan on replacing the plug and resistor for sure...but I am not sure if I need to replace the blower motor also. I found an awesome post here with a link to a great walk through, and posted a comment there but there has been no response(maybe because the thread was over a year old When I called the dealership, they advised me that I should also replace the blower motor as there is a resistance problem in it that caused the meltdown of the plug...Have you all found that to be the case or are they just trying to sell me a blower motor I do not need? Thank you for any and all advice

i had the same thing happen to my truck, the plug melted and i had to replace that. i just replaced the plug and the resistor block. i did not change the blower motor. if you say it spins freely then id say your all set. so id say no you dont have to change it.
