I have a 1997 Dakota extended cab 4x4 with a 3.9 auto and 42re tranny. i got a 318 and 44re tranny and wiring harness and computer from a 1998 jeep cherokee. will the 44re tranny work or bolt up with my transfer case? im not sure if the otor mounts are the sam but if not i will have to try and fabricate something. just curious about the tranny though

 

I wish I had an answer for you. You could do some research and is the wiring harness for a 318 motor? Is the harness for a calif or fed emission pcm, and does the pcm match? I think the 44re came in the 5.2 motor'd trucks, I could be wrong.

 

I got a 44re with my 5.2 I think that was the only thing that came with them but I could be wrong
