Default Another over-asked question

Keeping in mind I have a V6:

If I keep the factory Cat but stick a 18" glasspack and delete the resonator(s), would it sound like the stuff that you find in a cow pasture? Right now it's super quiet, I'd like to have a soft rumble but nothing obnoxiously loud. Or would just a resonator(s) delete or just a glasspack swap get what I want?

My mom's V6 firebird has this HORRIBLE metallic "dun-dun-dun-dun" tone to it, we replaced the cat (the platinum came loose) and that improved it but it still sounds like crap. I definately don't want to sound like that.

I think that it may not be the sound your looking for, especially if you remove the resonator. Youll end up with a very annoying cab resonance, and IMHO V6s with glass packs sound like DO DO.

Yeah if you just want a it a little louder and a little more tone, a glasspack is NOT the way to go. Get like a 70 series flowmaster.

my friend had a '83 half ton 350 chevy and We put headers on it and had the shop run just enough 2.5" tube to get behind the cab, then the glasspacks dump out under the bed right behind the cab. It sounded pretty awesome, but it was also a muscle truck to begin with (had 33x12.5 boggers on it with 2 tone tan on brown). I just want something that I can actually hear, but doesn't actually expose the fact of being a V6...

before i got my 03 4.7 and put dual gibsons on it.. I put magnaflow dual rear outlets on my 97 3.9 and it realy sounded great..it wasnt to loud and it had a decent rumble to it. If your looking for something that rumbles but not to loud on a 3.9 thats what i would go for..plus the kit comes with dual tips and it realy looks nice.

A 1 into 2 muffler with a pair of tips? Or a straight muffler with a Y tip? How much $$?
