Default P0138 woes...

Old O2 sensor was bad, giving me LOW voltage AND heater circuit malfunction or whatever.

Ordered a FRONT Denso O2 sensor by accident and put it in the rear and then the only code was P0138 which is HIGH voltage.

Ordered the correct REAR Denso O2 sensor, cleared the code, drove on it for a while and the same P0138 came back. Tried this twice - first time by battery unplug, second by clearing with a scanner. Took about 15 miles of driving the first time and probably closer to 35-40 miles the second time for the code to come back.

Should I try a Bosch or something? I don't want to keep wasting money on O2 sensors.

Also, I am using the 2 spark plug anti-foulers as a spacer for the O2 sensor since the truck has LT headers. http://www.energeticforum.com/renewa...n-foulers.html (this is just a random link I found about it on Google; ignore their stupid claims about increasing gas mileage and such)

engine = 5.2L

Edit to note: these were their direct fit ones, not universal ones.

bump, any ideas? I really need this thing to pass inspection. Are there any relatively cheap tuners out there that I can get that will just disable (not clear, but actually disable) all the rear O2 sensor stuff? I know my cat is working fine. It's ridiculous that I can't pass inspection because the car doesn't realize that. They should at least put it on the sniffer as a backup test, but no!

It'll come up as not ready and you won't pass because of that. Or at least that's what happens here in MA.
