clutch squeals like a pig
just bought an 02 dakota, my wife is driving it for the first time, she calls me freaked out about a squealing noise when she steps on the clutch, and up to @ 15 mph. i've heard of chattering but not squealing. anybody know what this could be??? thanks for any help

Sounds like a clutch job to me. The throwout bearing is squealing when there is no pressure applied to it. Might as well do the whole damn thing if your going to replace the bearing only. Its a transmission tear down either way. If the noise doesn't bother you, then drive it till it gets so bad you can't stand it, hell you might get a couple of more years out of it. Pretty sure the bearing comes in a clutch kit for these trucks. Sucks but it is relatively easy to do on kota's. Good luck!
thanks for the info, i kinda thought it was a bearing noise the way it was described to me, but then when she said pressing the pedal made it happen i thought maybe just a slave cylinder. oh well i guess i know what im doin tomorrow. cuz i think it may already be too loud. my wife said people are looking at her and covering there ears. hahahahaha
