Greetings, My first time here.
2ooo dodge Dakota V8 SLT
Battery is good, makes a fairly loud click when I turn key. Turn key a couple of times & it starts. I'm thinking starter but concerned that it might be a relay or solenoid. Opinions please.

Could be. Going to be hard to diagnose when it's an intermittent issue. The normal test for starters is to tap on them with a hammer but if it normally does start the second time or third time then it's going to be hard to tell.

 

Im thinking solenoid I would check with the cheapest first and try a new relay. you can take your starter to autozone and they will test it for free not sure if napa,advanced auto or other places do it.
