Im from northern Ontario. And the truck only cost me $4500 cnd which is why i want to do some mods to it.
I don't think there is any warranty left on the truck it is already 6 years old. Why would the handling be bad already, it actually handles pretty good right now, and why would it get worse? My ram is lifted right now and it handles just fine.

Trucks (outside, perhaps, of some heavily modified ones) all handle like garbage. Not hating here, because trucks have their use, and their use is not handling. They are big, tall, heavy vehicles that are meant for other things.

Raising a vehicle always makes the handling worse if the suspension was set up correctly to begin with.

Why would you want to do that for no reason? but hey, it's your call.

Comparing the Lightening to a Standard Dak is like comparing a Lambo to a Neon for luxury.

You totally missed the point. The Lightning, which is a much higher end truck, fails at handling. The Dakota, being a cheaper truck not meant for being fast in any way, is even worse.

Again, lifting a truck with reason is one thing. I just can't see the reason to do it for the heck of it. Obviously, it's his own call, not mine. My Dakota has been very useful to me, but I hate having to take corners at all with it, even though it has new shocks.

Idk where you are coming from, but I will say this.. my truck handles great. I dont have one issue with it.

Why do you hate taking corners with yours? Are you trying to take em at 70 plus? lol If your tryin to take corners faster then what they should be, you need your G8... not a truck. lol

Sometimes I have trouble being on the inside of a curve on the HIGHWAY (meaning not a very serious curve) and get understeer at 70. No ****. Not that this happens regularly, but even just once was enough to blow my mind at how horribly this thing handles.

Tokico Trekmaster front shocks, Gabriel Ultra rear shocks. I know they're not like Bilstein, but they are new, so what gives?

So I have that in my mind, and people come along and ask about putting in a lift for no reason. It makes me wonder why they would ever want to do that.

You might have some sort of problems. I bought my truck almost 3 years ago, haven't replaced any thing other then oils, tires, fuel.. the usual stuff.

Well, yes, I'm sure my truck has every suspension bushing in it worn out, but it's not the only truck I've ever driven, either. I honestly can't say I've driven a stock truck that's handled what I thought of as well. I've never driven lifted OR lowered trucks, I will admit. A friend of mine has a lowered S10 with adjustable ride height and it can do a bit better from what I've experienced.

Well, I guess what this proves is mostly about expectations, huh? Seems like it could go on all day at this rate.

wow, my question is that if your truck is so terrible at handling and driving why do you have it? I have absolutely no complaints about the handling of both my trucks. Compared to my acura rsx its not great at handling at fast speeds but i didnt buy a truck to go fast. And I want to lift it because its too low for me. I might use it to go out to camp, down bush roads, and I love the looks of lifted vehicles (just my taste). I am just trying to get it to look good, able to use it to haul my atv, or street bike, so i dont want it too high and thats about it.

Because it's useful for moving things and doing real work? You know, the actual reason that trucks exist?
