Default 5.9 Swap Questions

I've got a 1999 4x4 Dakota with a bad 3.9L six and a bad transmission. I've acquired a 5.9L engine out of a 1999 Dodge van. I know I need a wiring harness, PCM and trans for the V8. As far as the PCM and harness, I haven't been able to find one from a 1999 5.9L 4x4 Dakota. However, I've seen a lot for sale from 1999 5.9L 4x4 Durangos. Are the Dakotas and Durangos similar enough that I can use a Durango harness and PCM? If so, what do I need to look for as far as getting the right ones? From what I understand, I'll need a 46RE transmission. Will one from a 5.2 4x4 Dakota work with a 5.9 4x4 Durango harness and PCM if I'm able to use one? Thanks for any replies and tips!

i just did the swap... you dont need a new wiring harness... you gotta lengthen a few wires and add 4 wires for the extra injectors and pin your ecu socket... Not all that complicated. Youll need a v8 throttle cable. Other then the throttle cable, motor , tranny, and pcm thats about all thats mandatory

If you use your v6 harness youll need to use your v6 ignition coil and your v6 oil pressure switch as the plugs are different... and make sure you get an externally balanced flex plate

If I want to get a V8 ECU and harness, does it half to be a 4x4 like my truck? I see there are 1999 R/T ECUs and harnesses available. Would one of these work for my swap?
