Shock questions.
Ok here's the deal. I need to chnge the shocks on the front of my truck. Problem is I haven't changes a set of shocks since I owned a '79 malibu and don't really remember the procedure. Anybody want to give me a quick run though of what I need to do?
1) Take tire off
2)Remove top nut
3)Remove bottom bolt
4)Install top nut
5)Push shock like a mother****er and have someone thread the bolt
6)Tighten nuts and bolts and make sure to torque the hell out of the bottom bolt. I had one come out on me while I was wheeling once.
7)Put tire back on.

Its much easier if you jack the truck up under the lower control arm and remove the front tire. Then just removed the bolt on top and on the bottum and the old shock will come right out. And the new one will go in easily. Much easier than "Push the shock like a mother****er and have someone thread the bolt".

Work with the jack? It's not that difficult. You place the jack under the lower control arm and jack it up to take all the spring tension off the shock... Then just unbolt it and it comes right out nice and easy and goes back in just as easy.
