you'd be way better off just swapping to a 5.9. The 4.7 physically will not bolt up to the transmission you have in the truck right now, which means you'd need to get a whole new transmission, ECU, and wiring harness... possibly even change the motor mounts. Your best bet is to find a 5.9 out of an 02-03 and the PCM for an 02-03 5.9. It doesnt have to be out of a dakota, it could be from a Ram truck or a ram van. Just remember, if your truck is a 4x4 you will need a computer out of a truck that came with 4x4 and the engine too, otherwise you'll need to change the oil pan to clear the cross member. Also, if your truck came with the security option, you'll need a PCM that came with security. You dont need the whole engine harness, just splice in 2 injector wires.
Thanks,
It's a 4X2 and if I understood with one 5.9 the transmission is good, just to change the ECU and the wiring.
What is the security option and which is the average consumption for one 5.9

well, in the U.S. anyway, some trucks came with a security feature (like a car alarm), which is programmed into the computer. If you try using a computer with security on your truck and it doesnt have security, it wont work. Basically if you have a little light that flashes "security" in your instrument cluster when the truck is turned off, then you have security. Consumption for the 5.9 will be a little more, but the extra power is worth the added fuel consumption.
