Default A/C Compressor Clutch Help, Please

Hello Everyone,
Great forum - It has helped me many times. I am unable to find a thread for what I need - hope you can help.

My compressor clutch (03 Dakota 4.7l) nearly fell apart and I have removed it from my compressor. I am currently searching for another clutch but I'm not 100% sure that I have removed everything from the compressor shaft. Does the bushing that has the snap ring grooves in it come off of the compressor shaft? Here's what I have at the moment:

I would uneducatedly say that if everything came off the front, then you should have everything...but you won't know till you get a new one...

I found a used compressor with a clutch and it should be here tomorrow. I'll remove that clutch and make the swap - hopefully the part shown in the picture won't need to come off - that looks to be difficult.

You're lucky if you can get that done by yourself! I just had my clutch fixed by the local shop. I had to buy a new clutch cause i couldn't find a used one right away and it cost me $400 for the part and install.

I guess it was worth it after driving for a year and a half with out A/C!

OK - got it fixed! Bought a used compressor with clutch for $90 and borrowed a puller from autozone to remove the clutch. Installed it on my compressor and it seems to work really well. The bushing with the snap ring grooves remained on the compressor (as shown in pic). This link was a big help (instructions): http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl817h.htm Thank you Matthew Wright!

Carisu - I know what you mean about how expensive it is to have done. My local dealer wanted $280 for the part alone and never bothered to call me back with the price for labor! I'm guessing it would have been a lot more than $400. My repair might only work for a while but hopefully it will be worth the $90.
