^^ Just get the cheap filter intake from eBay, and put your own filter on it. The little bit of cutting I had to do is worth the ~$200 + saved by not buying the actual K&N kit. It's aluminum chrome tubbing, fairly thin and easy to cut with a hacksaw, but strong enough and won't release any fums or anything like PVC does.

the only problem i had with mine is i could not find a coupler anywere to go from the throttle body to the pipping none big enough i needed 4 1/4 i think and could only find 3 1/2 but i went to ace and found a plumbing coupler that has rubber on the inside and a hose clamp on both ends and the outer is stainless its nice and clean and only like $6 which was well worth it check the pics below

Thanks for the responses, I really appreciate all the info. I think I will make a trip to autozone and try and build my own. I will post pics when I get it done.

One more thing I already have a K&N filter istalled in the air box do you think there will be much noticeable difference between that and a cold air intake.

^^ A little. It'll be a better flowing intake, and you should notice some gains in the higher RPM's.
