Default Power Windows

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota and it does not have the auto power window option. Can I find auto power window switches and install them or does it take a special motor for them to work?

Yes, it needs motors and window regulators in the doors and switches and relays to provide the power for power windows. There used to be a company called SPAL that manufactured aftermarket electric windows. I have installed some sets of their windows, and they work OK. Back when I was an installer the switches they used were known for failure. They may have fixed the problem since then. Check with a local car audio or alarm shop, a good one will have more info for you.
