I wouldn't think so. Just let the engine warm up well, and when you drain the oil, let it ALL drain out. So pull the plug and go eat lunch and come back later. It takes a really long time for a 4.7 to fully drain all the oil.
But if you let the old oil completely drain out, change the filter, and then refill it with synthetic, you should not have a problem.
BTW what kind of oil do you plan to use? Are you staying w/ Valvoline and going Syn-Power? I would.

just to clarify about the lucas stabilizer. coming from own personal experience and a master diesel tech. its fine. honestly ive ran it with castrol GTX. its ment to stick to everything and it does. ive drained my oil after a good heavy pull on the highway, not even to let a minute to pass before i drop the pan plug.. no foam.. however i switched over to amsoil 10w30 25,000 mile service.. i only run the stuff 6000 miles then i change it. throw on a K&N oil filter and im set.
remember you get what you pay for. the more expensive stuff, better detergents and lubricity properties.

Mobil 1 and Royal Purple are the most expensive and they protect no better than Pennzoil, Valvoline or AMSOIL (although I dont know how expensive AMSOIL is per qt.)
