2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L 'Clattering Noise'
Hi all. Names Aaron, I'm new to the site. I looked around for my problem and was not able to find anything that could help me out so this is my next step.
First things first I just put a new clutch in at 83000 miles got the truck used and had to replace the clutch. I did the labor myself wit some help from my mothers boyfriend. Put everything back together got to the exhaust and I dropped two nuts in the catilis. I figured that was the Clattering noise I heard coming from under the truck. It sounds like noise is coming from the front. I only hear the noise when I'm accelerating hard or when I take my foot off the gas and then really hear it. Truck dont seem to have good hp at all. Almost as if I got a clogged up converter or something. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Aaron

I tightened up the bold a little on my exhaust, the noise is still in there. No I didn't take them out I was not able to unless I break the catilist off and my 02 sensor in screwed into it so I dont wanna screw it up.

you need a 02 sensor replaced... or what id do is try cleaning it first like it was suggested in one of the stickies. its 5 bux for the can of cleaner versus 70 for the sensor

I had to change two O2 Sensors when taking the exhaust off cause I axidently snapped them while trying to drop the exhaust. ( What O2 Sensor would this be?) I know its "Bank 1 Sensor 2" So would that be on the left hand side and the sensor behind the convertor? When replaced the other 2 there was alot of black hard build up on them that was hard to get off. This would cause truck performance to be poor as well since its being ran rich. Cause I have notice the lack of power from the truck. I wish I didn't need all four 02 sensors. California Emishions suck!
Thanks
